





Larry Watson, PhD. LCSW
Dr. Watson is a licensed clinical social worker in private practice and also holds the rank of Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Arlington School of Social Work, Many therapists in the area, including, Dr. Watson, completed their clinical training at the University of Texas at Arlington School of Social Work.
Dr. Watson has a long personal and professional history in Arlington. He holds a Doctorate of Philosophy in Urban and Public Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington School of Urban and Public Affairs. Prior to joining the Social Work faculty, he was the Assistant Dean of the University of Texas at Arlington School of Social Work. He holds a Master of Science in Social Work (MSSW) degree from The University of Texas at Arlington, an MA in Criminal Justice Administration from Sam Houston State University and a BS in Education from Texas Tech University. He has over 25 years experience in Social Work including serving as President of Methodist Mission Home in San Antonio and Executive Director of Catholic Charities in Amarillo, Texas.
He was honored as the Outstanding Alumnus for the University of Texas at Arlington School of Social Work in 1999. In addition to his clinic practice, his areas of interest are the nonprofit sector, youth services, adoption, and services to people with disabilities. He is a published author and frequent presenter at professional conferences. In addition to his clinical practice, he consults with nonprofit agencies on issues of program development and management.
He and his wife Judy have been married for 40 years. He is the proud father of a clinical social worker and a very proud grandfather of a six year old granddaughter. He is a fifth generation Texan and the son of a Methodist Minister.
